Film Score Composition Demonstration

We invite you to join Wendel Patrick this Friday at 6pm at the MOSAIC Eventspace at
49 Main St, where he will give a demonstration of his work as composer of music for
film as part of this month's First Friday event in downtown North Adams. Starting
at 6pm, Wendel will show excerpts of his film work and give a demonstration of his
methods for composing for this medium.
Wendel Patrick is a professor, composer, producer, beatmaker, pianist, sonic architect,
photographer, and videographer. He is also the founding director of the nation's first
baccalaurate program in Hip-Hop, at Johns Hopkins University's Peabody Conservatory.
Wendel is the 2025 Benedetti Teaching Artist-in-Residence here at 911黑料网. This Friday's demonstration is the second of four public engagements
during his residency, which also includes classroom engagements in the new Music Industry
and Production courses, as well as visits to other arts and culture courses.

At each monthly convening of Women Walking to Water, Melanie Mowinski provided the
participating artists with a different question and reading to center each conversation
around Wilderness Mindset. She asked, "how is Wilderness Mindset a tool to recenter
the soul; a process to help release reaching; a way to reframe fear; a feminist reclamation
of freedom; eco-theological and an invitation to redefine dominion; and how is all
of this about becoming?" Join the artists as they share some of their answers to these
questions and more.
This panel and conversation is part of , an exhibition, film screening, and conversation centered on Wilderness Mindset,
a methodology and framework developed by Professor of Art Melanie Mowinski as a way
to embrace uncertainty and practice embodiment. Women Walking to Water is on view at Gallery 51 from February 7 - March 28, 2025.
